On October 9, 2014, the mHealth Competence Centre in Barcelona, Spain, hosted an hour-long #mHealthPharma TweetChat on how pharma can develop high quality mobile health apps. This is a followup to the debate moderated by PharmaGuy in the LinkedIn Mobile Health Group ("What stands in the way of pharma developing high quality mobile health apps?"), which was also sponsored by the mHealth Competence Centre.

Juan Cornet is a Technical Engineer and graduate in Psychology. After working as a Clinical Psychologist in a General Hospital in 1979, he was elected mayor of Manresa. In 1988 he began to work as civil servant in the European Commission in Brussels and later he was appointed Secretary General of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament in 1994. In June of 2004 he was named General Secretary of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia.
In September 2005, the Government entrusted Juan to start up the "Bioregion of Catalonia" (Biotechnology) and since January 2007 to May 2013 he has been the CEO of TicSalut Foundation (ICT Health). While remaining a board member of the TicSalut Foundation related to international affairs and mHealth Strategies, Juan currently is the Director of the "mHealth Competence Center" at Mobile World Capital Barcelona.
Juan is also a Professor/ consultor of the UOC (Catalonia Open University) and IL3 (International Long-Learning University of Barcelona).
